About
HOW CAN I CONTRIBUTE TO THE SUCCESS OF YOUR PROJECTS?
I started my career as a print designer across a variety of project types – from annual reports to catalogs, corporate ID, packaging and advertising – working with clients from private industry, non-profit and government. Twenty years ago a friend gave me a copy of the book Designing Web Graphics, by Lynda Weinman and I suddenly found myself immersed in the world of designing for the nascent web (and even attempting to code – in text editors). Since then my focus has been on designing experiences for web, mobile, and interactive – as well as supporting them with design systems – using the latest tools and methodologies.
With a BFA in Graphic Design from Maryland Institute College of Art, I was exposed to a cross discipline education that involved a grounding in fine art as well as typography and graphic design. While I stay engaged with the current design landscape, tools and methods, I rely on intuition and a thoughtful pragmatism to provide design solutions, not design dogma.
